On Theater

not theatre because i’m not feeling particularly pretentious

anyways. my day.

so today was interesting because I went to rehearsal, didn’t do anything, didn’t do anything, watched people dance, sat there, did lots of homework, waited for director, then ended up basically running rehearsal of this big ballroom number we have. and it sounds kind of awful and I was there for a couple hours when I didn’t really have to be and I don’t even know the dance because I’m not in it anymore (although sidenote: that’s cause I got mildly promoted cause someone dropped and now I get to sing). but the thing is, I had fun. I genuinely enjoyed having something productive to do other than homework, and people listened, and they really needed me, too, because it was crazy messy. but it got way better, all because I can talk loud and count music and give notes, and I actually felt happy about myself.

also we saw Mulan Jr. tonight at the elementary school, directed by two of my dear friends, and it was great. it was great partially because it was fun to see what they’d been working on forever turn out so well, partially because it was kids doing mulan so how bad could it be, and partially because I have the kind of friends who yell things like “MUSHU PULLS.” while the rest of the parents are, like, clapping for their small children.

so anyways that was today and see there’s also this new development where people from school irl and such read this every once in a while so i’m going to have to get used to it. or, vomit words until everyone is too bored to care.

yay for still not doing much homework and also i really really should learn biology which i don’t want to do because it’s awful. but anyways.
